Support for parent/carer


Special Friends is for people with learning/intellectual disabilities and their parents/carers. Helping people keep in touch and share information, especially for those who have babies and infants with a learning disability to meet people having similar experiences and perhaps being united with support groups and people in their own area.

Contact a Family provides advice, help and support for families with disabled children whatever their health condition or disability.

HAIPAC provides help and information for Parents and Carers.

Early Support Wales is the Welsh Assembly funded programme to improve the delivery of services to disabled children under five.

AFASIC Cymru supports parents of children with speech, language and communication impairments.

Deaf Parenting UK is a resource of information for deaf parents and professionals working with deaf parents.

Down Syndrome Association is the only organisation focusing solely on all aspects of living successfully with Down's Syndrome.

Epilepsy Action aims to improve the lives of those affected by epilepsy.

National Deaf Children Association works to support families in Wales with deaf children.

The National Autistic Society is a UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families.
